Learning mode is typical for such devices. While the 'feel' of the remote is a little off from what I'm used to, it has all the functionality stated in the description. It's nice to have a few macros to play with as well. A bit of a pain, but you only have to do it once.Seriously though Sony, you couldn't include a couple AA batteries with this. Just a 'heads up' in case you order, make sure you have two AA's lying around.
I'm still working on it. I found this remote a little difficult to program. First, the "brand new" package was received with the blister pack opened prior to receiving it. I can get it to change channels and adjust the volume if I change the mode in between the actions. I have a Sony TV, Sony Surround Sound system, Sony DVD player, and Dish network. One would think they would sync easily - NOT. Beyond that, I think I'll learn how to split an atom. It might be easier.
For the price it's a good remote. I have a Sanyo Tube TV and it didn't work, but it did work for my RCA DVD player. I find this interesting because the TV is newer than the DVD player. So I don't know why it didn't work.
Dont get one of the no-name cheapie remotes.spend the extra couple bucks (literally). This remote is a breeze to set-up, comfortable to use, and laid out very nicely.
A remote that operates every function I want on every single device I own for a very reasonable price. This remote is an absolute steal.
I didn't think it was possible. The LG codes work for the major functions, and you can 'teach' (very easily) the rest of the functions.
The old CD-changer, and even better the stubborn Vizio TV which never worked with any other remote properly. If you own a Vizio TV, dont panic if you don't see Vizio codes.
I can finally put the other remotes in storage for good. and get this remote.
I have been using this remote for a little over half a year already and this is great and macro actually works. Set up was fairly easy. I had purchase two additional remotes to give to my Aunt and cousin.
